DEDICATED is my second album with a quartet, and the first one, where I wrote all compositions. Back then I had the desire, to dedicate my pieces to some of the musicians, which impressed and influenced me strongly.
"Elastische Dinge" is my bow to Anthony Braxton, whose idea of construction/deconstruction I admire a lot. "Nr. 74" has a bit of the melodic contour of Morton Feldman. A dedication to John Coltrane was obvious to me, whereas the bassline of "Supreme Loop" (to Randy Weston) comes directly from Love Supreme. So things have been stirred up and put together in new combinations. With "Der arumatische Klangbefeuchter" I tried to catch some of the lyrical lightness of my all-time-favorite Paul Bley.


DEDICATED has been recorded after my time in Cologne, where I met the wonderful Matthias Schubert. You also hear the my long-time collegue Jörg Fischer, with whom I worked in several projects and released three CDs. And there is Jürgen Wuchner on bass, who died absolutey unexpected in 2020. I like to dedicate DEDICATED to Jürgen.
